Chandipur Beach


Baleswar is a small district in Odisha where Chandipur ( ଚାନ୍ଦିପୁର, चांदीपुर ) is a small and unique beach which lies on the Bay of Bengal which is one of the fine beaches of the country. The unique circumstances of this beach is that the water of this beach moves back from 1 to 4 K.M. on the reflux of tide. Visitors can find sand-dunes, green wild creepers and horseshoe crab. The whistling sound of the breezes makes the environment more fantastic moment for a visitor. 

Geography
Chandipur is located at 21.47°N 87.02°E. It has an average elevation of 3 m (9.8 ft)

Army
Chandipur-on-sea is also the location of the Indian Army's Integrated Test Range (ITR). A number of missiles have been launched from the ITR including the nuclear-capable Akash, Shaurya, Agni and Prithvi ballistic missiles. 

Transport
Chandipur can be reached by travelling up to Baleswar by rail or road and then thereafter catching a bus. Road access to Baleswar is via National Highway 5 (NH-5). Most Baleswar trains stop in Chandipur. It is approximately 16 K.M. from the Baleswar Railway Station.
